Connecting and communicating across differences has its challenges - particularly when we are bridging the gaps in our perception or relationships. We often seek to be heard and validated, to understand and be understood, to increase opportunities for positive and healing conversation and to accept and move easily through times of transition. But when others (and life in general) do not respond in kind, we have opportunities to recognize and challenge irrational beliefs that hold us back and to engage in ways of thinking and being that are more effective.

Join us for this three hour didactic and experiential workshop where we will explore our connections to self and others as well as examine our inter-generational legacies. Through the principles of REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy) and techniques drawn from art therapy as well as from the traditions of poetry and narrative approaches, we will explore the stories we tell ourselves and others with an eye toward re-visioning our perspectives and entering into transformative dialogues.

This workshop is an introduction to the application of art and narrative modalities through the lens of REBT and does not substitute for more full training in any of these methods.
