Are you at a point in your life where you have been feeling down, anxious, or overwhelmed? Do you struggle with depression, anxiety, navigating interpersonal relationships, or the stress of day to day life? If so, I would love the opportunity to tackle these concerns and work together towards your growth and mental wellbeing. Reaching out for help can be difficult, but it is also courageous and something to be proud of. Whether you have never been in therapy before or have made the decision to return, my goal is to meet you wherever you are on your journey. I will listen deeply to understand your story and what has caused you to seek help, and bring empathy, curiosity, and judgment-free compassion to each of our sessions.

In my work I often integrate a number of different approaches, with a greater emphasis on REBT, psychodynamic and solution-oriented approaches, tailored and adapted to meet your specific needs. I know what it looks like when someone does not feel they are in a good state of mind or know what steps to take to get there. I decided to become a counselor to be a part of the solution for those in need, and it is truly fulfilling to see someone I’ve helped create change and feel more in control of their lives. My hope is to help you to develop skills and strategies to navigate the challenges you face, and apply that growth in the world outside of therapy.

Currently I am working towards my Master’s degree and licensure in the Mental Health Counseling Program at Hunter College. Before this, I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology with a concentration in Africana Studies from Stony Brook University. Through my educational background and life experiences, I’ve developed a great appreciation for cultural competency as a counselor, making space for and honoring the needs of a diverse range of cultural, racial, and sexual identities. I work with clients from a variety of backgrounds, and especially enjoy supporting women of color in young adulthood, as I know this can be a very overwhelming period in life. Overall, I believe everyone has a story worth telling and we all deserve to have someone to listen and advocate for us. I look forward to being that person for you.
